The life of starving writer is no more after I had a job opportunity at J. Jill, a woman’s retailer here in San Antonio. J. Jill is a store that feeds the needs of stylish women 35 years and up, however, being 22 I can definitely say I plan on making some purchases and mixing it into my existing wardrobe. The clothes is versatile, open to self expression but still very comfortable and easy to wear. The company also has a really great fund that doesn’t get enough attention, The J. Jill Compassion Fund.

The J. Jill Compassion Fund was established in June 2002 and is the central depository for philanthropic giving by the J. Jill Group. The Compassion Fund is committed to providing support to community-based organizations that help poor and homeless women become self-sufficient. Since 2002, J. Jill compassion fund grants have supported more than 25 organizations that help women to empower themselves and change their lives. What this means is that every J. Jill item bought should never have an end.
By purchasing a J. Jill item you have the opportunity to take that item back to a J. Jill store and donate it to the J. Jill Compassion Fund. That item will then be collected and given to the Battered Women’s & Children’s Shelter of San Antonio. In return for your donation you will receive 10% off a new item for each item donated. Our store is looking for gently used summer, fall and winter donations to help these women stay cool for the rest of the summer and be prepared for the cooler months. If you or anyone you know has gently used J. Jill in their closet, it is time to purge for a cause! You can take your donations to the address listed below. If you haven’t ever shopped J. Jill, I highly suggest you stop by the store. Hope to see you and please spread the word about this great cause.
